Patient Voices Network Orientation in Penticton

6/7/2012

A one day orientation is planned in Penticton for Saturday June 9th, 2012 by the Patient Voices Network.

The event is open to patients, care givers and others living in the Southern Interior.

Carol Stathers, Interior Liaison for Patient Voices says they are expecting a fairly good turnout of participants.

"We're expecting probably between about 20 to 25 patients from across the Interior Region. At this time we do have patients as far as Nelson and Williams Lake all the way across to Princeton and quite a few from the Okanagan Valley as well. We probably have about five or six spots still available for patients who want to come and join us. We're looking for patients who are looking at getting involved in focus groups, advisory committees, getting in discussions with health care staff. Usually within the health region when they are looking at making changes to programs"

Stathers says participants need to pre register if they are interested in joining the orientation.

Transportation and accommodation costs are covered for eligible participants in hopes of attracting a diverse group of individuals throughout the region.
