Executive Director of Kelowna Gospel Mission offended by video

8/8/2012

The executive director of the Kelowna Gospel Mission calls it 'extremely offensive'.

Randy Benson commenting after watching a shocking Youtube video showing a man urinating on a sleeping homeless person outside Toronto's Eaton Centre.

"It is hard to believe that these things are happening in our country. Our whole basis is the fact that we believe every person deserves respect and that is why we do what we do because we want to help people wherever they are at."

Benson says overall, people in the Okanagan have empathy and concern for the homeless and Kelowna should be proud of how they treat people that are less fortunate.

Toronto police says investigators believe the incident happened between Nov. 17 and Dec. 1 of last year.

They are looking for a male suspect, described as being between the ages of 18 and 25.
