Teenager Dies In 25th Ave Accident

Fatal cycle and vehicle crash Friday morning

At 6:30 Friday morning emergency crews were called to a report of an accident between a bicycle and a vehicle at the intersection of 37th St and 25th Avenue in Vernon. Police say a teenaged girl was on her bike traveling in the bike lane east bound when she was struck by a car driven by Vernon woman in her 60's. The young cyclist was rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

Investigators were still on the scene several hours later piecing together all the events around the crash.
