A third Okanagan resident has thrown their hat into the political ring and has announced they will be seeking the Penticton MLA seat.

Summerland Mayor Janice Perrino has announced that she will be putting her name forward as a candidate for the BC Liberal Party.

Perrino, who is also the Executive Director of the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation, says this is an exciting time for BC Liberals as new people with new energy and ideas are coming to the table to help the province.

Perrino joins former school trustee Connie Denesiuk and Mark Ziebarth in the nomination race.

Penticton Mayor Dan Ashton is also expected to announce he will seek the Penticton seat which is being vacated by retiring MLA Bill Barisoff.

A candidate will be chosen on October 20th when voting takes place at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
