BC Fruit Growers Worried About Low Snow Pack Levels

The head of the BC Fruits Growers Association calls the low snow pack issue a "crisis in the making".

Joe Sardhina says there's millions of dollars invested in planting throughout the Valley and in the event trees or vines are lost, it would take years for the industry to bounce back.

Sardhina says in terms of vines or trees, growers need water, it's not like producing hay.

He says the worst case scenario would be having water restrictions or stripping the crop off trees.

A drought management workshop will be held in Kelowna March 25th.
