World Kidney Day Celebrated at Penticton Regional Hospital

With March 11th being World Kidney Day, the Penticton Regional Hospital will be celebrating with a new program.

Interior Health will launch the Involved Care Dialysis Unit, a program helping patients develop skills and confidence needed to do your own dialysis treatments.

The program which is the first of its kind in the province will cater to all of the South Okanagan.

Staff at the unit will help guide patients through training.

Dialysis treat usually lasts about  five hours per week, so its more comfortable for people if they do it on their own at home.
