He says, "On one hand we're working for an organization where we're getting reminded on a daily basis that we should work in a sexism-free environment and that equality between men and women and the image of women is very important."

"Glee" fans are bummed after PVR's cut off the ending
Last night, Gleeks around the world were amped to catch the new episode of "Glee." The promo's dubbed it as the MUST-SEE episode of the season, where the cast re-created Madonna classics.
One problem though if you're a huge fan who PVR'd the show on FOX. "American Idol" ran a few minutes therefore, a lot of PVR owners were bummed to find out the last few minutes of their favourite show didn't get recorded. Total bummer. Thank goodness GlobalTV comes to the rescue though. They've already posted last night's full episode on their website. You can check it out at http://www.globaltv.com/

Excuses For Being Late!
Uh oh, slept in today! I kinda just snuck in throught the back door without my boss seeing me, so he knows I was late just didn't know why. Here's where I asked for your help. We went to Twitter, Facebook and the HITS lines to come up with some of the best excuses to give your boss for being late. I could've just been honest with my boss and told him I was late cause I turned off my alarm by accident but thats no fun. I needed an excuse that would keep him from asking too many questions. So the speculation was there for the last few weeks, but after being spotted together all weekend in LA and having lunch with her new man's mother, it looks like things could be heating up. Usually I don't care about Hollywood couples but this one, I couldn't wait to share. So here it goes, Avril Lavigne is now dating Brody Jenner from The Hills. Uhhh, what? That seems like a random couple. They did the usual rich kids thing in LA this weekend, going out for dinner, drinks, clubbing, then falling down on the street ‘cause they're so wasted and then shacking up at Brody Jenners house. Ahhh to be rich in Hollywood, where their biggest concern is to remember tying your shoelaces so you don't trip and fall outside the club cause you're wasted.

Actually speaking of coffee shops, I'm realizing I did something completely stupid, does this make me un-Canadian? Got my large coffee with a 1/3 french vanilla from Timmys and...dare I say it, I threw out my coffee cup WITHOUT rolling up the rim to win. Which smart Canadian throws out their coffee cup? Dumb, da dumb dumb dumb.

If a party is BYOB, do you take home whatever booze is left?
Got into this discussion at work today, if you're invited to a BYOB party, and you don't finish all your booze, do you take the rest home? I think it's in poor taste to take it home and you SHOULD leave it there...but i'm finding out that alot of people take their leftovers home. Is that rude? Opinions were split, and even though I understand there are people who take home their extra alcohol, I still wouldn't. I feel like it's impolite. Would You Let Your Child Skip School To Meet A Celeb?
Heard from a Dad yesterday, he let his daughter hang outside the South Okanagan Events Center in Penticton for the day and miss school because she's a HUGE Hedley fan. She waited outside the center in hopes of catching a glimpse of her favourite band. Would you let your child miss school to see their fave celeb? What's one day...right?
Personally, when I was younger I skipped school so I could go to the mall, wait in line, and get an autograph from 98 Degress. (don't judge me please ) I remember that day clearly, from what shoes I wore, to how I did my hair. I've still have the poster they signed for me rolled up in my closet. That experience was far more memorable than a day in school, I thought. I don't remember what classes I had that day, or what assignments I had to do, but I remember my experience. School IS important, but in my opinion life experiences are important too.

I've heard the cops will be lenient for the next couple weeks just handing out warnings BUT you know you gotta make sure you invest in a hands free. The new rule makes sense since there are so many distractions on our cells. Now that we can twitter and facebook on our phones they're tempting to pick while we drive.

Is Chivalry Dead?
So, is chivalry dead? After chatting about it on todays show, the answer is "No." After chatting with a few friends the other night we started talking about the last time a guy opened the car door for us. I always think it's sweet, but one of my friends said, "I'm an independant woman. I don't need a guy to open the door for me." Uhh, really? I don't think when a guy opens the door for you, it means you're not capable of doing it yourself, he's just being polite, and courteous.

You've probably already seen this but honestly, everytime I watch it, it makes me laugh. On a Tuesday after the long weekend it's the perfect thing to get you smiling. DJ Steve Porter took the Slap Chop infomercial and turned it into a rap. Seriously hilare. It'll literally "Slap all your troubles away."
Don't Text and Drive...This is a scary video.
Most of us are guilty of texting and driving. Even though we KNOW it's dangerous, we still insist on texting our friends to tell them we're on our way, or tell your wife you've picked up the groceries on the way home.
Recently in Vancouver I witnessed a woman getting in a car accident on the Granville Street Bridge because she was texting and driving. She smashed up the front end of her vehicle and could've really hurt herself. After seeing that first hand, I vowed NEVER to text and drive again.
Sometimes seeing things first hand can really change your opinion. In Britain they've come out with a graphic PSA about the dangers of texting and driving. I wanted to share it with you. Please note it is very graphic but worth watching so you can understand the real dangers of texting and driving.

Chris Brown will NOT be on Larry King Live Thursday night
There were reports, Chris Brown was going to be appearing on Larry King Live Thursday night. Turns out they were just rumours. He will NOT be on the show tonight BUT his reps say he could be on the show later this week, or even possibly next week. I'm not sure if i'm even interested in what Chris Brown has to say, but I really do want to hear from Rihanna.

Swine Flu Parties = Not Cool
According to the BBC, swine flu parties are sweeping the nation like, well, swine flu. The idea is that if you catch it now, when it is relatively mild, you might be immune when the disease mutates and has the power to wipe out half of the planet. A bit like chicken pox parties, only newer and cooler.
No surprise but health officials are saying "Swine Flu Parties" are NOT a good idea. In my opinion, get a few friends together, enjoy some delicious Okanagan wine and then suffer from the "Wine Flu" in the morning. The effects are the same, the only difference is, all you need is a greasy cheeseburger to cure it.
Canada Day Jerk
Hope you had a safe and happy Canada day yesterday. It was PACKED out there. Lots of fun. Overall the police say that everyone was pretty well behaved. For example, with the thousands of people that were out in Kelowna last night, only about 40 ended up in the drunk tank.
Took my family to the fireworks last night to celebrate the festivities and I gotta tell ya, sometimes I'm super surprised about what people will say. My mom and I were walking downtown towards the lake to check out the fireworks and some drunk dude wishes us a Happy Canada Day. So we say, as anybody would, Happy Canada Day. Then, this ignorant jerk decides to look at my and my mom and say "Welcome to Canada." I was like, uhh, huh? He said, "Welcome to our country." I was FLOOOOORED that someone would say. I have an east Indian background, but I was born in Canada. Dude was soooooo ignorant. I hope he was one of the 40 that got slammed in the drunk tank last night. I should've welcomed him to the real world.

Mariah Carey is currently working on a video for her new single "Obsession" and for it, she's channelling her ex-lover Eminem. In the video she does a bit of cross-dressing and plays and an obsessed fan. This song is supposed to be a response to all the lyrical attacks that Eminem has done to Mariah in the past.

Just cause it's Monday and we could all use a laugh, I just had to share this with you. It's the "whatever baby." Her expressions and tone are PERFECT! This little girl would've given Cher a run for her money in Clueless for sure.
What do you do when you're getting over an ex?
Ever done anything drastic to get over and ex? Well this one chick decided she wanted to get a tattoo. So it could act as a distraction and she could move on with her life. Sounds like no big deal right? Well she kinda feels like an idiot now. This 18 year old girl claimed she wanted 56 stars on her arm but she fell asleep while getting a tattoo and when she woke up she found 56 little stars on her face. FOR REAL! BUMMER! Then she was threatening to sue. Well if she was looking for a distraction she definitely got it. It looks pretty ridiculous.
If you've ever gotten a tattoo, you know it's painful. There's no way an 18 year old girl fell asleep during it, especially if it's 56 stars on her FACE. So check this out, turns out she's lying about it. She wanted the tattoo on her face but when her Daddy saw it she was in sooooooo much trouble. So she backtracked by trying to blame the tattoo artist for messing up.
Well a distraction is what she wanted, and that's what she got. Take a look at the pic. Blows my mind. I couldn't walk around with this on my face for the rest of my life. Poor girl.
Mosquito Bite Remedies
Last night while playing slo-pitch on a wet grassy field I got eaten alive by mosquitos. So today, I'm sitting here trying to resist the urge to scratch them cause they're so darn itchy. I asked you for some help and you had pretty good ideas to how to resist the itch. Here's what you had to say:

Kryshia: vinegar and water (smells bad but it works)
Karla: a baking soda and water paste
Try it...and believe it or not, the saliva idea, as disgusting as it sounds, actually helped get rid of the temporary itch.

The Man-Flu? Huh?
Just getting over cold and flu season...and still a lot of folks out there struggling with the sniffles and a fever. But in the house you might notice that when Momma gets a cold and when Daddy gets a cold the reactions are a little bit different right? It seems like sometimes Dad is a little whiny, well it looks like it's because they've got the Man-Flu. It really exists. Scientists are saying that "man flu" may not be a myth and that guys really do get illnesses worse than gals. It's all because women have a more powerful immune system than men, thanks to their hormones.

The Ultimate Twilight Fan Vacation
Personally, I haven't gotten into the whole Twilight thing but I understand it's popular. So popular that they've decided to expand the Twilight brand into the travel market. Just annouced, Twilight has come up with the ultimate vacation for any hardcore fan. It's a one-week Alaskan cruise. Yup...it's all Twilight themed. That means a costume ball, trivia contests, games, movie viewings and more.
Can you believe it? Plus you actually get to go on the cruise with a couple members of the cast. No it's not Robert Pattinson but it's Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz.

Idol Results...Who deserved to win?
I think it's GREAT Kris Allen won last night's Idol competition. Despite all the people on Facebook and Twitter smack talking the new idol winner, it makes sense that he won and I think Adam Lambert fans will agree when I tell you why.
It was obvious Kris was gonna win because first of all, the Gokey fans clearly took their votes and gave them to Kris Allen. We suspected that would happen.
PLUS here's the other thing...after chatting with Bri Cook from BC at Night, she made a great point. Adam Lambert losing Idol last night was a blessing in disguise. Admit it, the new American Idol single is pretty cheesy, dorky and nerdy. If Adam was forced to release that as his first single, it would be career suicide. Well it turns out i'm not alone. Great Long Weekend...Thanks cops!
Long weekend was fun, crazy, busy and wow was Sunday gorgeous. It was the type of weekend where you were actually excited if you got a sunburn. I do want to send out a special thank you to the cops (and no I'm not sucking up right now). I was totally impressed with their presence on the roads this weekend. I went through about two roadblocks between the Central Okanagan and the South Okanagan this weekend and I was IMPRESSED.
They were making sure folks weren't drinking and driving, had their seatbelts on, driving with a license and all that jazz. So thanks to the police for their extra hours this weekend.

You should have recieved a yellow vote card in the mail which has all the info you need to vote today. But if you didn't get one in the mail no worries, you can still vote. To get details on where to vote jump online to www.elections.bc.ca There's a spot that says knows your electoral district. Just plug in your home address and that'll tell you all you need to know about your riding and where to vote. Also, be sure to show up with two pieces of I.D. which have the correct home address on them so you can prove you're voting in the correct riding.

Lots of haters who say the show is cheesy, dorky and it's not as good as the original but I gotta admit it's my guilty pleasure. But now, after last night's show I will no longer feel guilty for loving 90210.
One of the characters, Ethan, was giving his friend Silver relationship advice and I thought it was brilliant. Despite what some guys might think...the advice wasn't to runaway.

Swine Flu err I mean H1N1 Virus = Cancelled Flights
The Swine Flu...err I mean the H1N1 virus is ruining vacation plans.
Did you have a trip planned for Mexico? Well it looks like you're going to have to change your vacation destination.
Sunwing Vacations just announced, they're going to delay departures to Mexico until the end of May. That means today's departure to Cancun from Kelowna is cancelled. Sunquest, Transat and Westjet are doing the same thing and they're suspending their departures. Air Canada is cancelling their flights to Mexican resorts, but they are still flying to Mexico City.
Might be time to call your travel agent and re-book. :(
Administrative Professionals Day
Administrative Professionals Day was earlier in the week. Assistants were rewarded for all the hard work they do year round for their bosses. Ok, I didn't want to bring this up on Administrative Professionals Day cause I swore to this listener that I wouldn't say anything until a couple days later, but I can't keep quiet anymore. We were chatting about some crazy stuff you've had to do for your boss, and this listener told me that a few months ago her boss actually asked her to pick up an ANNIVERSARY card for his wife...plus the flowers.
The flowers I can understand, but the card? That's supposed to be the most intimate part...as long as HE writes in it, he can redeem himself. So Administrative Professionals...is this common? If my future husband has an Administrative Assistant, I shouldn't be surprised she picked out the card, the gift, the flowers and probably even the restaurant we have dinner at?
Miss California ticks off Perez!
Sunday night, the Miss USA pageant was held and Miss California put her foot in her mouth according to Perez Hilton.
She had the opportunity to answer a question from one of, Perez Hilton. He asked her what her view on same-sex marriage was and whether other states should legalize it. Here's what she had to say:
Britney Concert Ticket Refund
Lots of drama surrounding Britney's concert in Vancouver on April 8th. Fans are still disappointed about her almost 40 minute break she took during the show due to smoke in the venue.
Fans are saying although she did return to the stage after the 40 minute break, the momentum was lost. Concert goers have now come together to form a group wanting compensation from Britney Spears, for all costs, including ticket prices, hotel, and airfare.
If you're one of the many who are disappointed, you can visit the website at www.refundfrombritney.com and complete a form about your desired compensation for the concert. A lawyer has been hired to review the complaints and determine if legal action can be taken.
Unusual Tax Deductions
Tax time! You wanna get as much money as you can back and with that said, there are some deductions you can make that I had no idea about. So i'd figure i'd share it with you.
I think the most shocking one you could make, is for breast augmentation surgery, for real.

- The Tax Court decided a farmer was allowed to claim cat and dog food because they were outdoor pets meant to keep wildlife away from their blueberries. Dog food is also deductible if it is for a service dog.
- Hair transplants are considered a medical expense since it is generally considered to be beneficial to the patient's health. This is also true of breast augmentation surgery.
- If you attend school outside of Canada, the tuition should be tax deductible as long as the school is recognized by the CRA.
- Lunch time supervision costs are considered child care expenses and can be claimed on your return. This also applies to before and after-school programs.
NKOTB SHOW! ~review
New Kids On The Block were awesome at Propera Place Monday night. Sooooo many screaming girls/women, and a few smart dudes hoping to pick up. Honestly, I had a wicked time. Jabbawockeez opened the show. They're winners from Randy Jackson's America's Best Dance Crew reality show. Knocked it out of the park. Those moves were INSANE!
Then the New Kids hit the stage. At first I just watched, fully catching flies with my mouth wide open. It was jaw dropping. They came out doing their signature dance moves which include holding on to their belt buckles and waving their hands in the air. It was so nostalgic. Loved reliving my childhood.
Britney's 40minute Smoke Break
Last night was the Britney Spears concert in Vancouver, I was there. Front row checkin it out. I saw it all...Lots of folks from the Okanagan went to check it out and after RAVE reviews in other cities, the expectations were high last night. But that's not the only thing getting high. Let me me explain.
Three songs in, Miss Britney left the stage for a 40 minute smoke break. She claims there was TOO MUCH SMOKE in the arena...from cigarettes and BC bud of course. Who gets high during a britney concert? Probably the boyfriends and friends that were dragged their against their will.

Exciting news! We knew if was happening but NOW we can mark it on our calendars. Sex And The City is coming back to the big screen. It's set to be released on May 28th, 2010! That's two years after the first Sex And The City Movie came out. I'm stoked...even though the storyline will probably consist of Carrie buying maternity clothes and the ladies switching from Manolos to Hush Puppies; there's just something comfortable about watching Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte on the screen while giggling with your girlfriends.

Idol: X-Rated Tonight? and BLUE MONDAYS
Could Idol be x-rated tonight? Tonight on American Idol 13 contestants will be singing for Americas vote. The problem is, American Idol has NEVER had 13 contestants in the final before. So when the producers looked into the number 1-866-IDOL-13 they found out, it was an ADULT HOTLINE! hahahahahaha. So the obvious remedy, look into the number 1-866-IDOL-00. Guess what? SIFE Okanagan CHALLENGE!
SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) Okanagan recently asked me to get involved in their Young Entrepreneur Competition and I WAS THRILLED. It's been great and alot of fun. Just wanted to take a minute to congratulate the finalists in the competition! Here's some deets about the competition:The Young Entrepreneur competition is put on the by School District 23, the Business Development Bank of Canada and SIFE Okanagan. It challenges middle and high school students to work together to create a feasible business idea by completing 3 tasks throughout the competition. This year's theme is "Be your Own Boss for the Summer"; this theme is aimed at creating sustainable and easily implementable ideas for students - they want students to be able to bring there businesses to life in the coming summer months. The students have already gone through there first meeting with the judges and some of the teams were... fired. Despite the great effort put in by all of the students, the following teams are the ones that impressed the judges enough to make it to the next round.
